Current

Current

Current is flow of positive charge, it's denoted by 𝑖 (𝐼 for fixed currents)
Current is measured in Amperes and is a standard SI Unit

Flow of positive charge

Current is the flow of positive charge while electrons contain negative charge, in reality electrons flow the opposite direction from the current

Drift Velocity

Since charge carriers do not travel in a straight line, drift velocity 𝑉𝑑 measures the general velocity of charge carriers

Current Density

The current density is the measure of the flow of current per unit area and is dependent on drift velocity
